HOW CAN I CHECK AVAILABILITY?
Our tours depart every day of the year except on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. You can check real-time availability for the tours up until 24 hours before departures. For last minute bookings, please give us a call for availability +51 958 313 939.
CAN I PAY IN CASH ON THE SAME DAY OF THE TOUR?
Unfortunately not. Tour reservations are confirmed upon payment via Paypal with any major credit card.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY?
Cancellations up to 24 hours before the tour are entitled to a full refund.
Cancellations within 24 hours of the tour receive a 50% refund.
I’M NOT STAYING AT A HOTEL, HOW CAN I ARRANGE TO TAKE THE TOUR?
We pick up guests from Miraflores, San Isidro and Barranco. Pickup locations can be private addresses and Airbnbs. If you are staying in another district or you are coming from the airport, we will establish a central point in the Miraflores district where you can meet your guide or with an extra charge we can arrange for transportation. Let us know where you will be staying.
DO I HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO TAKE A TOUR ON A LAYOVER IN LIMA?
To make it in time to join the Day Tour, for international arrivals, flights must arrive by 7:00 AM and for domestic arrivals by 7:45 AM. The tour ends around 3:30 PM and you can calculate approximately one hour to make it to the airport from the last stop on the tour.
To make the Evening Tour, for international arrivals flights must arrive by 2:15 PM and for domestic arrivals by 3:00 PM. This tour ends around 7:30 PM, and you can estimate approximately one hour to make it back to the airport from the last stop of the tour in Barranco.
If you’re cutting it close, we can also arrange your airport transfer with our trusted partners so you can meet up directly with your group in case of any delays. They charge $25 each way in a car for up to 2 people and $40 each way in a van for up to 5 people. If you would like to include this service in your reservation, you can add the note in the “comments” field when booking.
WILL I HAVE A GOOD EXPERIENCE AS A SINGLE?
We often have singles on our food & culture tours, whether they be single travelers or locals looking for something fun & different to do in Lima. We have found that most people who take our tours are adventurous & sociable, excited about trying amazing food, & open to meeting new people (or even making new friends)! If you are open to meeting new people & having a great time, you will have a wonderful time on the food tour.
WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM NUMBER OF PASSENGERS
We do require a two-person minimum to open a new group for each food tour. We like to keep our groups below 6 people. Of course, larger groups and special events are welcome and will be arranged separately.

ARE THE TOURS SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN?
Our food tasting and cultural tours have been developed especially for food and history lovers. We find that some children have a blast on our tours and if you think yours will, please bring them along – our tours are great for young history and food lovers, too, as well as future chefs!
When you make your reservation please inform us you are bringing a child on the tour, so that your tour guide can be prepared. Please also note that strollers can be a challenge on the tour due to the many narrow sidewalks that we walk on, certain staircases that we use when entering establishments, and the very small shops that we visit. If you have further questions please contact us.
DO YOU ACCOMMODATE FOOD ALLERGIES AND SPECIAL DIETS?
Absolutely! Vegetarians, lactose-free guests and other special requests can be accommodated. We ask that you please notify us of any dietary restrictions at the time of booking as we coordinate all alternative menus in advance.
DOES THE PRICE INCLUDE THE FOOD AND DRINKS?
Yes, the price includes all food and drink in the program, entrance fees and tips at the restaurants. If you love the culinary experience, tips for our guides are not included so feel free to show your appreciation – they will be grateful!
HOW SAFE ARE THE FOOD AND WATER FOR VISITORS FROM ABROAD?
All of our providers adhere to the maximum hygienic standards as nothing is more important than your health. The tap water is not clean enough to drink without boiling first, so make sure you only drink bottled water while in Peru.
HOW SHOULD I DRESS DURING A TOUR?
Please dress casually, comfortably, and appropriately for our tours.
ARE TOUR GUIDE GRATUITIES INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?
Tour guides gratuities are not included in the cost of your tour. We generally recommend giving your guide between 15%-20% of the purchase price of the tour. Our tour guides are dedicated to making your tour the highlight of your stay in Lima.
HOW MUCH FOOD DO WE EAT ON THE FOOD TASTING TOURS?
We recommend not eating anything other than a light snack before our experiences. You will have the opportunity to taste foods from different specialty shops, ethnic eateries and restaurants. It’s more than enough food for a hearty lunch. Our promise to you is that your bellies are full by the end of the food tour.
ARE THERE BATHROOMS STOPS?
Of course there are! Your tour guide will keep you very happy and comfortable and let you know when the next restroom opportunity is coming up.
MAY I RESCHEDULE MY FOOD TOUR?
Yes. You may reschedule your food tour within 48 hours of the tour start date and time.
I TOOK THIS TOUR LAST YEAR. HAS ANYTHING CHANGED?
We change our tours slightly every six to eight months. Many parts of the tour remain the same, but we do our best to improve upon and enhance the tour. Don’t be embarrassed to come back for more and repeat the experience – many people do!
