Paracas & Nazca Lines Experience
Ballestas Islands, Nazca Lines and Pisco vineyard experience in one full day tour from Lima, all the best attractions in the southern part of Perú.
7 DAYS A WEEK
6 HUNGRY PEOPLE / 1 AWESOME GUIDE
IT’S A GLIMPSE INTO THE REAL PERÚ: THE HISTORY, CULTURE & ENTERTAINMENT OFFERINGS.
This day excursion includes an aerial tour of the famous and mythic Nazca Lines of the southern Peruvian desert, a full day to remember with Humboldt penguins, wine tasting at one of the oldest vineyards in South America, all right outside of Lima. Just a few hours south, in the province of Ica you’ll find the Ballestas Islands teeming with marine life, a gorgeous winery and Pisco distillery that dates back to the sixteenth century. This route covers it all in one day, not to mention the delicious food.
The tour begins early in the morning with a scenic four-hour drive south along the coast from Lima to the seaside town of Paracas here you will visit Ballestas Islands on a two-hour boat trip. The islands are teeming with over 150 species of bird life (including penguins, cormorants, boobies and pelicans). They are also home to thousands of sea lions and boast some amazing rock formations, you will experience the magnificent sight and sounds of the vast array of wildlife and maybe even spot seals and dolphins playing around the boat. Our boat trip also takes us past the mysterious Candelabra figure etched on the side of a mountain. Best viewed from the sea, many believe the Candelabra is linked to the Nazca Lines
Leave Paracas behind and journey towards Ica. Here the excursion takes to the skies for an aerial viewing of the Nazca Lines from a Cessna airplane. These massive images, the longest of which are 1,200 feet (370 meters), are comprised of thousands of geometric lines. Due to the stable climate of the Nazca desert, the geoglyphs, which were created by removing the top layer of soil to reveal the light-colored clay underneath, are remarkably well preserved.
After the flight, we will have lunch in a local restaurant and then we will visit a vineyard to learn about the Pisco and wine production process: sowing, harvesting, and processing. In addition, we will try different types of Pisco and wine that are so famous in this part of the country. Lunch is not included, but we will help you order a delicious meal.
We will leave Ica to go back to Lima. You will be dropped off at your hotel in Lima at approximately 20:00 hrs
